Modern footwear merges design innovations with all-day performance, in step with our fast-paced lives. The traditional Saudi Arabian sandal is a loved staple of our cultural and fashion identities. We realized this popular product hadn’t been truly updated in decades. Ral’s best-of-both-worlds approach introduces modern functionality from the performance footwear industry to a product steeped in our culture and heritage. We set out to recreate this symbolic product with a global mindset, prioritizing comfort and championing environmental sustainability. The journey to rethink and recreate such a timeless piece took 2 years and collaborations with international footwear professionals from the United States, Sweden, and Vietnam. The result was a fusion of old and new, technology and tradition, culture and comfort, converging in a stylish and functional product for every walk of life. After two years of treading forward, we present our flagship product: Cipher. With a name inspired from the Arabic “zero,” we took the next step in elevating cultural footwear with modern standards of performance and sustainability … From zero.
